The future is here!
Robots doing dentistry (dentists everywhere start looking for a new career). But all jokes aside, the future is exciting with robotics aiding and guiding the placement of dental implants.
The hope with robot-assisted dentistry is that it will make the placement of implants safer, more predictable and more efficient. What’s impressive is that the robot can do two things.
1) It can recognise the positioning of the patient and angulate itself into the correct orientation
2) Once it begins it can respond to patient movement and will move along with the patient
I’m all for robots helping with dentistry, but hopefully the day when they replace us dentists altogether is still a long way off haha.
